Tasha here!

I am originally from Swindon, but have lived in Bristol for the past 13 years after studying Drama at UWE, where I gained my BA in Drama & Theatre Studies in 2013.

Although I have studied theatre formally, I have gained more of my skills, knowledge and love from classes, groups and productions I have been involved with outside of education.

This began when I started weekly after school theatre classes at 13. It truly molded me into the person I am today, giving me confidence, and some of my fondest memories.

I have been the president of my university Drama Society, put productions on in both Swindon and Bristol, and been a workshop facilitator for Reach Inclusive Arts, RPA, Swindon Borough Council and Gatecrash Theatre.

An inspiration for me is our very own Laura Barnes who enabled me my first insight into directing and producing when I assistant directed for her youth theatre productions including DNA (13-18 year olds) and Hansel & Gretel (6-11 year olds).

She also brought fantastic companies like Frantic Assembly into my life highlighting the beauty of Physical Theatre. Under her wing I was also able to study Improvisation with John Lomas (director of the longest running improvised soap opera, Closer Each Day) and clowning from the remarkable Frank Wurzinger, which have both equally brought light and laughter to my teaching style.

I love the community that comes along with involvement with Performing Arts and I am never happier than when I get to facilitate someone, just like me, gaining that spark of confidence and watching them blossom.
