Dear Parent/Guardian of RPA Act,
We are excited to announce that (all being well as we are waiting to hear back regarding funding now!) this summer’s BIG project is a film.
Description:
Every RPA group will be working with their leader to create a performance piece inspired by a specific artwork which forms part of Swindon Paint Fest. Over their next sessions they will be devising pieces based on what they feel and see when they look at the artwork. We are also arranging (where possible) for the artists involved to pop in (or ‘zoom’ in) and meet with the young people to discuss their inspiration. Once the pieces have been created, they are being filmed by a professional team from Create Studios at the site of the painting.

8:00-10:00am – By Matalan – To the Right (Greenbridge)
The participation fee to take part in this project is £25 per young person and this will be debited from your account on 1st May. If this additional fee is a barrier to your young person taking part please email us and we will see what we can do!
Date to confirm:
14th of March if your young person can take part in this.
Stewards Request:
We also require several stewards for the event to help us manage any passing public and potential traffic (in our busier locations we are either requesting a road closure or filming carefully so the road does not impact us).
These would need to be adults with no additional young people needing their attention! If you are available to be part of this crew, let me know by the 14th of March. You would be needed for all of the filming slot plus available for (or able to watch back) a short Teams meeting shortly before filming to run through the role.
Gala Event:
Finally, the film is being shown at a Gala Event at The Wyvern Theatre on the 6th of July and tickets can be purchased here. If for any reason we do not get the funding, then we will perform the pieces live at this event rather than film them. We will let you know within the next few weeks if this is the case!
