Hi Leaders

I am afraid I am emailing with some disappointing news. I am afraid we did not manage to secure the ACE funding and so can not make the film. We are absolutely devastated about this BUT I do have a plan B which is am working on with Georgia.

We plan to now still take inspiration from the art work but perform instead as live theatre at The Wyvern Theatre on July 6th. We still want you to maintain contact with the artists and gather information and inspiration from them (and invite them to sessions to work with you and the young people as a one off) and we will invite them to the final performance but it will not be a film. Please continue to create your pieces using the time frames outlined in the excel spreadsheet I shared last week: Street Lights Pieces Running Order.xlsx . You can stand down from needing to work on the weekend days in April and May and just aim for pieces to be ready to share as live theatre in July.

We will update parents over the next few days so please don’t mention anything in class till next week

We will also update artists by next week so please don’t say anything to any contacts there just yet.

Level Up….. Each level up group will create two pieces…… For dance one is contemporary and one is street for each of the groups. Tash….. I will call you tomorrow to discuss level up theatre and their two pieces.

Rapport….. Each Rapport to create one piece inspired by chosen art work.

Individual singing lessons and guitar lessons…. Paul and Ellen please can you let me know if your young people will wangto do this as it is now live theatre

I know and feel just how frustrating and disappointing this is. We have all spent time on this and may feel deflated. Moving forward we will not start a project until we are certain we have funds in place

Thank you all for your support.

Onwards

Laura

All elements of the sessions are child centered and there is no pressure to perform,
just to relax, enjoy and have a good time.
