I have been beavering away contacting the artists connected to the art works you have chosen as inspiration. I am asking whether they would be interested in speaking with you (and potentially the young people) to find out what inspired them. This communication with you can either be via email or video or in person if they are able to attend the workshop times.
If they are available to come to your session I will let you know and you can email them directly to arrange. I will only get involved if they are available to attend and your session is in a school. In that scenario we will need to know when they are attending so we can let the school know as well. If they are attending and meeting you and the young people please can you not leave them on their own with any child at any point. As they are not trained or employed by us I want to keep close safeguarding protocols in place.
if they can not attend but are interested in being involved you can offer to email them some questions that you can gather from the young people in advance or if you like and can maybe zoom/teams them into one of your sessions so the young people can met them virtually?! Or you chat with them virtually and maybe even record it so the children can watch it! Basically the options are endless. I am afraid we have no extra money to pay you for any of this so fully appreciate that you may well want to keep any input to a minimum . Equally Georgia and I are available to support you if it helps.
My only last request is if you do meet with the artist PLEASE get a nice pic with them and the young people and send it to georgia for socials. This stuff is golden and shows how we really do go above and beyond! One of your young people could be the next Banksy and this is the moment they get inspired!!!
